Two people have been arrested after a car crashed following a police pursuit in Hull on Sunday.

It failed to stop when requested by police officers at about 19:15 GMT and drove off at speed on the wrong side of the road, Humberside Police said.

After a short chase along Clough Road and Cottingham Road, the Hyundai i20 collided with a Mercedes, which hit another vehicle.

Two people were taken to hospital for treatment for minor injuries along with the driver of the car involved in the pursuit.

A 21-year-old man and 17-year-old boy were arrested at the scene on suspicion of theft of a motor vehicle and possession of criminal property.

The 21-year-old was also arrested on suspicion of failing to stop, driving without a licence and without insurance.

Police are appealing for CCTV and dashcam footage of the incident.
