Evie's first Christmas at home with new heart

Last year, Chloe Green wanted to make her daughter Evie's Christmas the best it possibly could be, even though the then four-year-old was attached to a Berlin Heart which pumped her blood for her.

Evie, from Middlesbrough, had dilated cardiomyopathy and was waiting on the urgent transplant list.

Hundreds upon hundreds of Christmas cards were sent to the young girl after a plea posted online.

She was 10 months into what would ultimately be an 18-month hospital stay, which began on Valentine's Day 2023.

This year, after finally receiving the gift of a donor heart, five-year-old Evie has returned home and is able to celebrate the festive time with her family whole.
