Actor lands top role with help from his nan
A 24-year-old actor from south Wales has landed a role in a post-apocalyptic horror film.
Sam Locke, from Merthyr Tydfil, made his feature film debut in 28 Years Later, the latest instalment in director Danny Boyle's series, which was released in UK cinemas on Thursday.
He auditioned by recording a self-tape with his grandmother, Wendy, while visiting her in Wales.
"We had a good time filming that, she read in for the roles," he told Behnaz Akhgar on BBC Radio Wales.
Nearly three months later, he was back in her living room when he got the call confirming he had landed the part.
