City's new park and ride plans submitted
Plans for a new park and ride service on the northern outskirts of Hull have been submitted by the council.
The Kingswood Park and Ride development at the Dunswell Roundabout on the A1079 would include waiting area rooms, a bus depot, a petrol station with a shop, car wash, electric vehicle charging bays, and three drive-through restaurants.
East Riding Council said the site would accommodate 500 car parking spaces and vehicle access would be created off Beverley Road and Raich Carter Way.
A document submitted by the council said the site had been designed to ensure easy access for drivers and would aim to be as "visually unintrusive as possible".
The application said it included 12 servicing bays for the buses, "ensuring a smooth running of operations of the local bus network".
However, Yorkshire Water submitted a document sharing concern that "it appears from the submitted site layout that buildings will be sited over the public water supply infrastructure located within the site".
The letter added: "This could seriously jeopardise Yorkshire Water's ability to maintain the public water network and is not acceptable.
"We therefore object to the development layout as currently shown.
"I strongly advise that, prior to determination of this application, the site layout is amended to allow for adequate protection of the water mains."
