Watch: Aftermath of WW2 bomb explosion

A huge crater is all that is left after a 500kg (1,100lb) German World War Two bomb was exploded in Newtownards.

The bomb was detonated in a controlled exposion on Tuesday after it was found four days earlier.

Hundreds of homes had to be evacuated to allow it to be blown up safely.

No-one was hurt, but the scale of the explosion is clear through the crater left behind.

The bomb was dropped in 1941 during Luftwaffe air raids on Belfast.
