Police escort as Cold War jet takes to the road

A former Cold War jet has been transported on a lorry along Lincolnshire roads.

The Buccaneer S.2 became a gate guardian outside the RAF Honington base in Suffolk.

It was driven with a police escort to the former RAF Binbrook airfield, near the village of Brookenby, where it will be restored and added to the exhibits at the site's aviation museum.

Lincolnshire Police posted a video on social media of the convoy travelling through the county on Sunday afternoon.

Built by Blackburn at Brough in East Yorkshire, the Buccaneer S.2 was a two-seat, low-level strike and reconnaissance aircraft used by the Royal Navy and RAF.
