Watch: Fireball caught on Nottinghamshire dashcams
Dashcam footage of what appears to be a meteor burning up in the skies above Nottinghamshire has been captured on camera.
The fireball was seen in Edwalton, Newstead, and by a driver on the A453 just after 17:45 GMT on Monday.
Footage of a similar-looking fireball was captured in the skies above Lincolnshire and Yorkshire.
"Honestly, I wasn't convinced it was a meteor," Asher Stoppard said, after capturing the footage on his dashcam in Edwalton.
"[I] didn't think I'd ever be lucky enough to see one so clearly in person."
A meteor is a piece of space debris that burns up as it enters the Earth's atmosphere, creating a "shooting star", according to the Royal Museums Greenwich.
