Unesco World Heritage sites

Authorities are coming up with a plan to safeguard the Stonehenge and Avebury World Heritage Site.

It was estimated the project would cost £22m but it is now thought the bill for the overhaul will be at least £85m.

A man in his 40s has been arrested after "considerable damage" was done to the Unesco site, police say.

Fountains Abbey, near Ripon, was targeted late on Sunday night, according to North Yorkshire Police.

The estate says it will donate its own-grown saplings as part of a year-long legacy campaign.
