A serious crash has closed a busy road in Cornwall.

Devon and Cornwall Police said the incident was reported just before midnight on Friday near the Twelvewoods roundabout on the eastbound A38 in Dobwalls.

The force said the crash involved a number of vehicles and the road was likely to remain closed for several hours on Saturday while investigations took place.

Anyone who witnessed the crash or has dashcam footage of the incident has been asked to contact police.

National Highways South West posted on X just after 03:25 GMT, saying the A38 was closed eastbound between the junctions of the A390 near Dobwalls and B3254 near Liskeard.

A spokesperson said a diversion route had been set up, with motorists advised to allow extra time for their journey.
