Drivers warned about road closures this week

Drivers have been warned to expect overnight disruption and road closures this week.

National Highways said essential maintenance work would take place on the A14 near Ipswich, and was expected to last for five days.

Officials added that work was also planned on the Orwell Bridge between Monday and Thursday.

National Highways said "essential survey and maintenance work" would be carried out on the Orwell Bridge over four nights.

Work was planned from Monday to Thursday, between 20:00 GMT and 06:00.

They said the road, and a lane, would be closed at different times on those nights.

All lanes would remain open during the day.

National Highways said essential "bridge joint repairs and resurfacing work" was planned overnight on the A14 from Monday to Friday.

Officials said work was being carried out between junction 52 for Claydon and junction 55, the Copdock Interchange.

They said there would be road closures and diversions in place.
