Police appeal after hit and run involving boy, 12

Sussex Police is appealing for information after a 12-year-old boy was the victim of a hit and run in St Leonards-On-Sea.

The incident occurred on Friday, 6 June at around 17.10BST when a black Mercedes collided with the boy who had been cycling along on Western Road.

The driver of the vehicle then left the scene without stopping.

The boy was taken to hospital to be treated for his injuries and has since been discharged and is recovering at home.

Officers have tracked and seized the vehicle involved and are exploring a number of lines of enquiry.

However, no arrests have been made at this time.

The force is asking anyone who may have seen what happened or might have footage to come forward.
