Heligan submits plan for parking and charge points

A visitor attraction in Cornwall has applied for permission to develop a new car park with electric vehicle charging points.
The Lost Gardens of Heligan, near Mevagissey, has submitted a planning application for a new visitor parking area of 241 spaces with 20 charging stations, according to the Local Democracy Reporting Service.
A spokesperson said the proposed car park would be in Island Field, which lies within the Heligan complex, whereas the current car parks are sited on land that does not belong to the attraction.
They said the existing parking area could not support charging points but Island Field could which would help the organisation to meet the government's low carbon objectives.
The application details additional work including associated landscaping, drainage, vehicular access and pedestrian footpaths if permission is granted.
