Devon minor injury unit to extend opening hours

A minor injuries unit in Devon will open seven days a week thanks to newly appointed staff.

Exmouth Hospital League of Friends said the staff had completed additional specialist training required for the role.

The hospital said its minor injuries unit (MIU) would open 08:00-20:00 GMT from 25 January.

It said: "The League of Friends would like to congratulate all the nurses that have recently completed their training and wish them well in their new posts."

"Additionally the League would like to thank all the MIU staff for their continued hard work and dedication."

Currently the unit is open on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday between 08:00-20:00, on Tuesday and Thursday between 08:00-15:30 and closed on Saturday.
