Teenager in court charged with father's murder

Fabio Botros, 19, is charged with murdering his father and two counts of attempted murder

A teenager accused of murdering his father and attempting to kill a woman and an 11-year-old boy has appeared at crown court for the first time.

Fabio Botros, 19, faced Lewes Crown Court at Brighton on Friday charged with murder and two counts of attempted murder.

Emad Botros Farag, 57, died at a house in Hartfield Avenue, Brighton, on Tuesday.

The woman and the boy were found injured outside the property.

Mr Botros, of Hartfield Avenue, was remanded in custody and will next appear at Lewes Crown Court on 20 June.

No plea has yet been entered.

A provisional trial date has been set for 2 October.

The woman and boy were taken to hospital and have both since been discharged, according to Sussex Police.
