Murder charge after woman shot dead outside church
A man has been charged with the murder of a woman who was shot dead outside a church in north-west London.
Michelle Sadio, 44, died in the shooting outside the River of Life Elim Pentecostal Church on Gifford Road in Harlesden at about 21:30 GMT on 14 December.
Tahjin Sommersal, 18, of Lafone Avenue in Feltham, has been charged with murder plus two counts of attempted murder and possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life, the Metropolitan Police said.
He was remanded in custody and appeared at Willesden Magistrates' Court on Monday, police said. He is due to appear at the Old Bailey later.
The Met said a further five people were arrested at addresses in Brent and Hounslow in connection with the fatal shooting.
They are all men - two aged 18 and the others aged 21, 24 and 33 - and remain in custody.
Ms Sadio had been attending a wake at the church.
She died at the scene, while two men, both aged in their 30s, were also injured, the force said.
Police said the gun was fired from a black Kia Niro with distinctive alloys.
Following the shooting, the car was driven to Barnhill Road where it was abandoned and set alight, the Met said.
