Thieves have broken into a petrol station and taken about £20k in cash.

West Mercia Police said three people were seen on security cameras at about 23:40 on Tuesday, breaking locks at the Tesco Extra petrol station on Battlefield Road in Shrewsbury.

The three were then seen fleeing in a dark grey Ford Fiesta.

The force said it appeared there were a number of people in the area at the time and have asked for help in identifying the thieves.
