Boy, 13, arrested after stabbing on bus

A 13-year-old boy has been arrested following a suspected stabbing on a town centre bus, police have said.

The incident happened on the number one service in Cornfield Road, Eastbourne, at about 19:40 BST on Saturday.

The victim sustained an injury consistent with a stabbing. It was not life-threatening and he has since been discharged, police added.

A teenager was arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm and attempted robbery, and was subsequently bailed.

Officers are carrying out increased patrols in the town centre and are asking the public to not speculate about the case online.
