An A-road was closed westbound following a substantial diesel spillage.

Norfolk Police said it was called to the A47 at the Easton roundabout at 22:51 BST on Thursday following reports of a spillage on the road.

National Highways said the road was shut between the A1074 (Norwich) and B1110 (Honingham) for emergency resurfacing works following the incident.

A spokesperson for National Highways said specialist contractors were at the road.

The work was expected to be completed by the afternoon, National Highways said.

Drivers were advised to take alternative routes and allow extra time for their journey.
