Farm hoses down pigs and alpacas to keep them cool
With temperatures set to soar above 30C this weekend, a farm in south Wales is having to hose down its livestock to keep them cool.
Pigs at Cefn Mably Farm Park, outside Cardiff, have needed to wallow in water in order to avoid over-heating.
"Pigs can't sweat, so they need to wallow – so when they say about pigs in mud, it's a real thing," said Tina Tilbury, farm animal manager.
The farm's alpacas do not pant like other animals, Tina explained, "but they do appreciate being cooled off by the water".
