Margaret takes to the ski slope - aged 80

An 80-year-old's dream of slaloming down a ski slope has come true at a snowdome in Staffordshire.

Margaret Syms, from Bromsgrove in Worcestershire, had told staff at Chandler Court Care Home about her ambition.

Before long, staff at the home contacted Disability Snowsport UK, who set up the the run at Tamworth Snowdome.

Margaret, who said "it's never too late to try something new", has had a lifelong passion for sport, with a particular love for cricket, horse riding and swimming.

She said she had always wanted to go skiing, but that her husband would never go, saying it would be too cold.
