US travellers pack airports ahead of Thanksgiving holiday

A record-breaking number of Americans are expected to travel this week for the Thanksgiving holiday.

The Transportation Security Administration expects to screen more than 2.9 million people on Wednesday alone throughout US airports, creating long queues and wait times to get through security.

Severe weather threatens to disrupt some travel, with an Arctic blast hitting the Midwest and wet weather in the Eastern US.
