Guard of honour as oldest serving officer retires
A police force has bid farewell to its oldest serving patrol officer with a guard of honour.
PC Jim Perks retired from Dorset Police at the age of 59, after 18 years on response policing.
As he left the force for the last time, serving officers lined the route and applauded and nearby vehicles sounded their sirens.
Prior to that, he served in the RAF for 22 years.
Dorset Police said he was "a hugely respected officer" and an "inspiration".
