Wales punches above its weight in arts, says Fry
Welsh people have always "punched above their weight" when it comes to understanding the arts, Stephen Fry has said.
The acclaimed comedian, broadcaster and writer is president of the Hay Festival – once described by former US president Bill Clinton as the Woodstock of the mind – which takes place in Powys from 22 May to 1 June.
Fry told BBC Radio Wales his role as president was more ceremonial than executive or administrative.
"I think of myself as a kind of cross between the Queen mother and a regimental goat," he joked.
