East Hanney: Tributes paid to Christmas Day crash victim

The family of a woman who died in a car crash on Christmas Day have described her as a "beautiful human being" with an "infectious giggle and smile".

Jean Houston, 61, was driving a Mini Cooper when it collided with a Peugeot 208 on the A338 near East Hanney, Oxfordshire, at about 11:15 GMT.

She was pronounced dead and the Peugeot driver, a man in his 30s, suffered "life-changing injuries", police said.

Ms Houston's family said she was "loved and respected by all that knew her".

They added: "Your kindness towards others without hesitation, endeared you to us all.

"A happy go lucky attitude, an infectious giggle and smile.

"A deep love of animals and a sense of care.

"Always others first, a beautiful human being."

Thames Valley Police said a man in his 50s, who was a passenger in the Mini, was taken to hospital with minor injuries.

The road was closed between the A415 and A417 for several hours.

The force is appealing for witnesses and dashcam footage.
