Head teacher felt 'powerless' after inspection, inquest hears
BBCAn inquest into the death of head teacher Ruth Perry has heard how she felt "powerless" after her school was inspected by Ofsted.
Mrs Perry, who was head of Caversham Primary School in Reading for 13 years, died in January.
A coroner began hearing evidence on Tuesday and the inquest is expected to conclude on Thursday.
Twin who fought off crocodile plans charity swim
Georgia LaurieA woman who saved her twin sister from the jaws of a crocodile is planning to complete a charity river swim to help people with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).
Georgia Laurie, 30, from Sandhurst in Berkshire, punched the crocodile in the face when it attacked her twin Melissa in Mexico in June 2021.
While Melissa is almost completely recovered, Georgia said they were both still suffering from the mental impacts of the attack.
Hero crane driver dubbed 'Bruce Willis of Reading'
A crane operator has been dubbed "the Bruce Willis of Reading" during his first interview since rescuing a man from a burning building.
Glen Edwards was captured on video saving the man from the blaze at the Station Hill development last week.
He told ITV's Good Morning Britain (GMB) he hoisted a rescue cage, attached to his crane, up to the roof after seeing the man waving his coat.
Reading Lotto winners to celebrate with weekend by seaside
Camelot/PAA couple have said they will celebrate a £1.2m lottery win by re-living a romantic weekend they had at a Dorset seaside resort 44 years ago.
Graham and Caroline Parris, both 65 and from Reading, matched five numbers and the bonus ball in the Lotto Must Be Won draw on 1 November.
Mr Parris said the pair's first trip as millionaires would be to Weymouth.
Sinkhole needs further investigation, council says
The cause of a sinkhole that opened up in a car park near a school needs investigating further, Wokingham Borough Council has said.
The 2m (6.5ft) deep crater was discovered in East Park Farm Car Park in Charvil on 20 November.
Scans of the area were completed over the weekend in an attempt to find out whether there was any further underground deterioration.
