M1 motorway

Drivers are being warned of delays of up to 30 minutes and four miles of congestion.

A local animal rescue centre says they were in the central reservation with their dying mother.

Part of the M1 is closed for several hours after the incident between Northampton and Milton Keynes.

National Highways says the road reopened on Saturday night and traffic was returning to normal.

Police say five people were injured, two of them seriously, in the incident on the M1 on Friday.

Drivers had previously been warned to expect delays of about an hour due to the blaze.

Motorists are facing long delays following a fire on the southbound side of the M1.
