Stafford Borough Council has agreed to buy the unidentified sites as part of ongoing plans.

Buying the four-storey Civic Centre is intended to guard against losing money through rent hikes.

People are also being urged to apply to The National Lottery Community Fund to help them run events.

The funds will go to charities, groups, town and parish councils, and rising sports stars.

Some visitors felt unwell during the motorsport event last year, at Staffordshire County Showground.

Money for the revamp came from money Stafford Borough Council received from housing developers.

Residents of a single street where five councils provide services take a dim view of amalgamation.

The scheme will include refurbishment of the concourse at Stafford station.
