Woman in critical condition after serious assault

A young woman is in a critical condition in hospital after a serious assault in north Belfast, police have said.

It happened in Brucevale Park at about 16:40 BST on Tuesday.

A 21-year-old man has been charged with grievous bodily harm with intent, common assault and criminal damage.

He is due to appear before Belfast Magistrates' Court on Thursday.
