Fewer black bin collections planned
Fewer black bin collections and a new fee for taking away garden waste are among changes planned by a local authority created last year.
Cumberland Council said it wanted to "harmonise" collections after the merger of Carlisle, Copeland and Allerdale councils.
Residents of the former Allerdale and Carlisle areas would see an annual £40 garden waste charge introduced.
People living in the former Allerdale district would also have their general waste collected fortnightly instead of weekly but would have the option of a bigger bin.
Carboard and paper collections would also increase from monthly to fortnightly in the area.
Residents of the former Carlisle City Council district could see wheelie bins introduced instead of boxes and bags for their recycling collections.
Cumberland Council said the changes would "make the service fairer and more efficient".
A consultation document is available on the authority's website.
Paper copies are available at libraries across the Cumberland area, as well as at Allerdale House in Workington, Cumbria House, and the Civic Centre in Carlisle or the Market Hall in Whitehaven.
