Property 'substantially damaged' in blaze
Fire crews have been tackling a large blaze at a residential property in East Sussex.
East Sussex Fire & Rescue Service (ESFRS) was called at 11:28 GMT on Thursday to reports of a domestic garage fire in Green Ridge, Brighton.
At the height of the fire, eight fire engines and an aerial platform were at the scene. People have been told to avoid the area while the fire is dealt with.
The fire service said everyone had been accounted for and there were no reported injuries.
There are understood to have been six cars in the garage, which is connected to a house.
The fire service said the property had been "substantially damaged" and its roof had partially collapsed.
As of 15:20, the operation was being scaled down and crews were checking for "hotspots" to ensure the fire was completely out.
"Crews will remain on scene for the next few hours," said group manager Tom Walby.
"We'd like to thank our firefighters, officers and partners for their hard work during this incident."
The fire is being treated as accidental, according to ESFRS.
