Man in court accused of murdering mum and siblings

A 19-year-old man accused of murdering his mother and siblings in a shooting at a tower block has appeared in court.

Juliana Falcon, 48, Kyle Prosper, 16, and Giselle Prosper, 13, were found dead at their home in the Marsh Farm area of Luton on 13 September.

Nicholas Prosper appeared at Luton Crown Court by video link from prison and spoke only to confirm his name.

The defendant, of Leabank in the town, has not yet entered a plea to three offences of murder.

An inquest into the three deaths heard Ms Prosper, Kyle and Giselle had all been shot in the head.

Mr Prosper, who was remanded at HMP Peterborough, is due to stand a three-week trial beginning on 3 March.

He has also been charged with a number of other offences, including purchasing or acquiring a shotgun without a certificate, possession of a shotgun and possession of a kitchen knife in a public place.

Judge Michael Simon said a psychiatric report needed to take place ahead of the trial.

"The parties are working exceptionally hard to ensure this trial begins on the 3rd of March," he told a brief hearing on Tuesday.
