Three people have been arrested in connection with a crash in the Cotswolds in which a woman was killed.

Gloucestershire Police said the crash, which involved a black Subaru Forester and a red Ford Fiesta, happened at about 18:35 BST on the A436 near Notgrove on Thursday.

Emergency services pronounced the woman dead at the scene, and four other people are still in hospital with serious injuries.

The three people - a 20-year-old man and a 21-year-old woman from Lancashire, and a 17-year-old boy from Cornwall - were arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and remain in custody.

Officers are keen to speak to anyone who saw the following vehicles travelling on the A429 and A436 from Stow-on-the-Wold towards Andoversford before the crash:

  • A black Subaru Forester,
  • A white Ford Transit van,
  • A black Volkswagen T-Cross.

They also want to speak to the passengers of a red Ford Focus which drove past the two vehicles involved in the crash, heading towards Bourton-on-the-Water on the A436 moments before.
