Man in court charged with causing death of cyclist

A man has appeared in court charged with causing the death of a cyclist who was hit by a car in Leeds.
John Shelton, 48, was struck by a white Volkswagen Golf on Ridge Road in Micklefield on Monday.
Mr Shelton, from Astley, Greater Manchester, died at the scene of the crash, West Yorkshire Police said.
Appearing at Leeds Magistrates' Court, Keiran Hunt, 37, is accused of causing death by dangerous driving and perverting the course of justice.
Mr Hunt, of Field View, Micklefield, was remanded in custody until his next appearance at Leeds Crown Court on 30 May.
Two other males arrested in connection with the crash remain on police bail.
