A man has been arrested after a northbound section of the M5 in the West Midlands was shut when a car overturned.

A driver suffered a minor injury in the crash at about 12:25 GMT on Sunday and the northbound carriageway of the motorway was closed at junction one, near West Bromwich, National Highways said.

Traffic was diverted off and back on to the M5 using the junction's roundabout.

West Midlands Police said a man was arrested on suspicion of drink-driving and taken to hospital to be checked over.

National Highways said the motorway reopened by about 13:30 GMT.
