Man charged over death of man found on Paisley road

A 40-year-old man has been charged over the death of another man on a Paisley street on Thursday morning.

The 39-year-old victim was found injured on Greenock Road at about 02:35, and died shortly afterwards at the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow.

The 40-year-old is due to appear at Paisley Sheriff Court later.

Greenock Road was temporarily closed between Mossvale Lane and Albion Street following the incident.

Det Insp Gordon Smith previously said Police Scotland's thoughts were with the family and friends of the victim.
