Weekend wildfire burning moorland dies down

A large wildfire which began over the weekend and burned through grass and gorse appears to have died down.
North Wales Fire and Rescue Service said many hectares of moorland between Bronaber and Trawsfynydd, Gwynedd, had burned since the fire was reported at about 20:18 GMT on Sunday.
The blaze had a front of 500m (1,640 ft) as of midnight on Monday, the fire service said.
Firefighters had been monitoring the situation, and had hoped the fire would peter out on Tuesday.
