Views sought over plans to tackle flooding
Green roofs, trees and new drainage systems are some of the measures being looked at to tackle flooding part of Shropshire.
A drop-in session is taking place at the Memorial Hall in Smithfield Street on Monday afternoon for people to find out more about the ideas for Morda, on the outskirts of Oswestry.
They have been drawn up by the Severn Valley Water Management Scheme of which Shropshire Council and the Environment Agency are part of.
Councillor Ian Nellins said it was a chance for people to find out about plans to make urban spaces better at absorbing water.
About £400,000 has been set aside for the "Oswestry DePave" project.
The scheme is aimed at removing hard surfaces, such as concrete and asphalt, and replacing them with materials such as soil and gravel, to allow water to soak into the ground more easily.
Potential solutions include green roofs, where the plants absorb rain, and rain gardens, which slow down surface water.
Opinions from the session will be fed into a technical consultation later this year, organisers said.
