Three-year ban for 'swerving' drink-driver

A drink-driver who was seen swerving and driving slowly on a dual carriageway has been given a three-year ban from the roads.

Kerimullah Taser, 44, was stopped by officers in Station Road, Eye, Peterborough, at about 22:30 BST, on 26 October last year.

Cambridgeshire Police officers observed Taser, of Tilton Court, Peterborough, travelling at only 25mph (40km/h) on the A47.

He was arrested after he admitted he had been drinking and failed a roadside breath test. Taser blew 67, just under twice the legal limit of 35 micrograms per 100ml of breath.

Taser was fined £200 and disqualified from driving for three years after admitting drink driving at Peterborough Magistrates' Court on Friday.

Officers said it was "fortunate" they were able to stop Taser "before he caused a collision".
