Doctors' surgery closes after flooding damage
A doctors' surgery in a Devon town has closed due to extensive flooding.
Honiton Surgery said the water caused significant damage to the building and its server.
In a statement staff said the building closed on 30 December until they could assess the damage and it was "safe to return".
They added the service provided was "significantly restricted" and could only provide an "urgent service".
The statement on the surgery's website said: "We are implementing measures to resume our services but currently the service we can provide is significantly restricted.
"We are currently only able to provide an urgent service."
The surgery said patients should call the surgery between 09:00 GMT and 12:00 GMT if they have an acute issue as they can be triaged by its on-call team.
The practice added it would continue to offer a prescription service and asked people to continue to order their medication via the NHS app, local pharmacy, or post in its letter box.
On Friday the surgery said on Facebook there was water damage to 30 clinical rooms, its server and communication room.
"There are no functional computers at the practice. Power is out to most of our clinical areas," the post added.
