Reward offered in unsolved murder investigation

A £20,000 reward has been issued for information related to an unsolved murder.

Raju Modhwadia, 41, was found with fatal stab wound injuries in Evington Road, Leicester, on 27 December 2021.

In May 2022, five men who had been charged with his murder were found not guilty due to insufficient evidence.

The charity Crimestoppers has offered a new £20,000 reward for any information that leads to the conviction of those responsible for Mr Modhwadia's death.

Crimestoppers believes there are people who witnessed what happened to Mr Modhwadia, who was known as Kara Muru.

The charity's East Midlands regional manager Lydia Patsalides said anyone making contact would be treated "100% anonymously".

She said: "By coming forward, you could make a real difference in helping to get justice for Raju, whose life was so tragically cut short.

"No amount of information is too small to tell us - were you at home on Boxing Day evening on Sunday 26 December 2021, close to where Raju was found?

"Did you hear or see anything suspicious? It is not too late to tell us what you know, and you could be eligible for a reward."

Crimestoppers previously offered a £20,000 reward for information in October 2022.
