Tamar Crossings manager retires after 27 years
Staff at a bridge and ferry crossing have marked the "end of an era" after its general manager retired.
David List decided to step aside from his job at Tamar Crossings after spending 27 years working across a variety of roles within the company which manages the Tamar Bridge and Torpoint Ferry.
A celebration event was held by the company to commemorate Mr List's time with the crossings which has seen him work on a number of projects including widening the bridge and replacing the ferries.
Mr List said the crossings had been a "huge part" of his life.
"This is the longest I have worked for the one employer and I have got very attached to the team and the amazing structure and vessels I have been in charge of for the past 27 years," Mr List added.
"While I will no longer be crossing the bridge to get to work, or working next to an iconic bridge or a ferry crossing the river, Tamar Crossings is in my blood now and I will always look back with fondness and pride on what we have achieved."
