People living in Stow-on-the-Wold say they have had no water since Monday lunchtime due to a burst water pipe.

Thames Water had to re-route water supplies due to a pipe which had burst near Lower Swell Road.

The repair was completed on Tuesday morning but the provider said it "may take some time for the pressure to build up".

Full water pressure was expected to be restored within a few hours.

Tom Knight who lives in Stow-on-the-Wold, said it "all happened very suddenly".

He had been without water for more than 18 hours, and said they had had "very few updates from Thames Water" during that time.

Mr Knight added: "We are running out of cups and everything else, but there are people with much bigger problems that we worry about, people who really need water".

Thames Water said it was "flushing the network to make sure the water is clean, safe, and ready to flow back to your taps" and had thanked people affected for their "patience and understanding".

It said they would continue to deliver bottled water to priority service customers until the full pressure was restored.
