The crash happened on the A51 near Aston Marina, police said

An appeal for information has been launched after a man died in a crash near Stone on Monday.

Officers said they were called to the A51 near Aston Marina just after 21:00 BST where a black Nissan Juke had crashed into a tree.

The driver, a man in his 20s, was taken to hospital but was pronounced dead a short time later.

Police said a woman and child were also taken to hospital, and their injuries were not believed to be life-threatening or life-changing.

The man's next of kin had been informed and were being supported by specialist officers.

Anyone who saw what happened or with dashcam footage was asked to contact Staffordshire Police.
