Murder charge as woman dies nine months after attack

A man has been charged with murder following the death of a woman nine months after she was attacked.

Greater Manchester Police said it laid the charge against 43-year-old Dean Johnstone over the death of Karen Youdell.

She died in May, nine months after she was attacked in Rosebank Road, Newton Heath in July 2023.

Johnstone, of no fixed address, has been remanded in custody to face Manchester and Salford Magistrates Court on 22 January.
