Shipping container takeaway served eviction

A takeaway operating from a converted shipping container in a car park outside a Derbyshire railway station has been ordered to leave.
Ismail Rammo came to the UK as a Syrian refugee in 2018 and set up Essie Grill.
He sold food from a container in front of Buxton station, having upgraded from a smaller trailer at the start of the year.
But the container did not have planning permission and now High Peak Borough Council has refused retrospective permission and ruled it must go.

Planners on Tuesday ruled that the steel shipping container had an "unsympathetic" appearance in a "sensitive and prominent" gateway to the town.
It said Buxton Railway Station was Grade II listed and in a conservation area, and the container had led to "adverse harm" to a "historic environment".
A petition to the council calling for Essie Grill to be saved had hundreds of signatures, although a number of objections were also made.
Mr Rammo said he did not wish to comment on the decision, but said he was looking to find a new premises for his takeaway, which serves a mix of Syrian cuisine and English classics.
