Cyclist seriously injured after hit-and-run
A cyclist has been taken to hospital with serious injuries after being involved in a hit-and-run near a roundabout.
Dorset Police said they received a report of a collision involving a vehicle and a bicycle on Castle Lane West, near to the Broadway Roundabout, in Bournemouth, at 22:15 GMT on Friday.
The cyclist, aged in his 20s, was taken to hospital for treatment and his family have been informed, while the other vehicle involved failed to stop at the scene.
Sergeant Lee Savage said anyone with any information or dashcam footage is asked to get in touch with police.
He said: "I would urge any witnesses or anyone with information that might assist our investigation to please contact us.
"I would also urge anyone who was driving in the area and has dashcam fitted to their vehicle to please check their footage for anything of relevance.
"Furthermore, I would like to urge anyone who is aware of any vehicles that have sustained damage around the relevant time period in unexplained circumstances to please report it to us."
Road closures were put in place while enquiries took place and the road reopened at around 23:50.
