Watchdog raises 'serious concerns' about care home

An Inverness care home has been served with an improvement notice after "serious and significant concerns" were identified by the regulator.
The Care Inspectorate said it was concerned about the quality of care experienced by residents of Castlehill Care Home in Cradlehall.
The operator of the 88-bed home must now make "significant improvements" within specified timeframes.
A spokesperson for Castlehill Care Home said they were "distinctly uneasy" about the situation, stressing there were two sides to the story.
'Improvements to be made'
Inspectors said they understood that it was a "difficult and distressing time" for residents, families and staff at the service.
The regulator outlined improvements, including ensuring that people's health, safety and wellbeing needs were accurately assessed, documented and met.
It also said people must experience safe and compassionate care and treatment that meets their needs.
The report highlighted the importance of effective governance at the home, to monitor and manage the quality of care.
Castlehill Care Home said it would engage with the regulator, adding that its chief concern was the wellbeing of residents.
