'Amazing' Cornish women in frame at new exhibition

More than 200 women from the past and present have been made the stars of a new exhibition in Cornwall.
Women in Cornwall, which opened at Art Centre Penryn on Thursday, aims to highlight their achievements after a call for suggestions.
Organisers said the 234 women chosen for the display were known for their contributions to a variety of sectors including sport, business and health.
It is expected to run until 26 April.

The exhibition features portraits of the women and information about each of them, together with a short film about the project.
Megan Beck, director of Art Centre Pynryn, said: "I loved reading about all the amazing women who were being suggested week on week through the public call-out."
A panel will select 50 of the featured women, and ceramic artist Katie Bunnell will commission artists to create a collection of plates to further commemorate them.
Ms Bunnell said: "They are exhibited to be acknowledged and to inspire others to act, create and champion women from all sectors."
Women of Cornwall is the first exhibition in the newly refurbished space at the former Penryn Methodist Church and School Room.
