Police are appealing for witnesses after a teenager was seriously assaulted at a music festival.

Thames Valley Police said the incident happened at the Sidewinder Festival, at MK Dons Stadium in Milton Keynes, between 21:00 BST and 21:30 on Saturday.

The force said a man in his teens sustained injuries to his cheek bone and eye socket, and a second person sustained minor injuries to the face.

Det Con Jessica Cooper described it as a "serious assault" and said it happened near to the smoking area.

"I believe a number of people will have seen what happened and may have information to assist our investigation."

Both victims required hospital treatment and were later discharged.

The force said that two mobile phones were stolen during the incident.
