Woman dies after being hit by car in M&S car park

Police are appealing for witnesses and dashcam footage after an elderly pedestrian died in a collision in Torquay.

Emergency services were called at about 16:20 GMT on Thursday after a red Citroen C3 was in collision with a woman at the Marks & Spencer car park at The Willows.

The woman, who was in her 80s and from Bovey Tracey, was taken to Derriford Hospital in Plymouth and died later the same day, said the Devon and Cornwall force.

The male driver from Paignton was uninjured.

A section of the car park was closed for forensic examination and to recover the vehicle, said officers.
